We setup today for the 8-hour drive from Mumbai to Aurangabad, but first we had to do a little shopping for Carol and Jennifer so that they could get some clothing that was more typical of what women in India wear. So we went to the grocery store. I don't believe either of them ever purchased a complete outfit in the aisle next to the dishwasher soap and kitchen cleaner, but they have now. Of course, they never paid $6 for a complete outfit, either.
The drive was long, we left at 11am and got to Aurangabad around 9pm, but we took the scenic route and made a stop at the orphanage the Pastor Chacko runs outside of Mumbai. They have finished the new dinning hall, and are working on a girl's dorm. The kids were all at school, so we did not get a chance to see many of them, but will when we return on the 20th. The biggest difference between this trip and the on in January is the flies - plenty of them this time.
We continued on over the mountains, which were beautiful, in a Yosemite Park sort of way. Increadible water falls, views, and motion sickness in the back of the van. Oh well, the motion sickness was much better than the shear terror of looking out the front window at the buses and trucks coming at us in our lane.
We managed to avoid any rain during the day, and the sun was out several times, just very humid. Pastor Chacko's wife, Susan, and another pastor's wife named Emily came with us on the "air conditioned van", so we had plenty to talk about and share.
At the Rama now, and there is a wedding going on - on Wednesday night? More later.
