FIJI Suva
Shane and I went on a hike today in the rainforest it was lovely but not good for people with limited mobility as it is off the beaten track and I mean way off, there was a lot of older people with walking sticks went and nearly fallen over. I even slipped on the muddy wet ground and this old man was really unsteady so I helped him, but they should have really done something better for them. We got to see a lot of waterfalls and once we reach the bottom we went for a swim in one of the lagoons, it was a little chilly at first because we were so hot from the walk which by the way took 60mins. We had a very well earned swim. Shane was a little frightened to go in at first as it was so deep and he couldn't see the bottom but once I was in with him he was ok. Then it was a walk back to the bus, mind you I have never seen a bus going 4wd but this bus did and its not a little bus !!!!
That was very interesting!!!!
We then went to a motel where they had a FIJI dancers demonstration which was really nice, they fed us fruit of water melon, pineapple and por por or papia, then back to the ship.
Daryl and sue went on shore to see was there was but they village people are very pushy and was wanting you to buy there products, they asked you your name and they would carve it in the wood and then charge you $30 if you weren’t quick you would be stuck with it, you had to say no very fast, the kids didn’t want to go on land so they stayed on the ship at the kids club, they had a better time than daryl and sue. Everyone that had been here before warned us about the people so we had the head up and didn’t get caught, we were very lucky, and not having the kids made it easier as they weren’t there grabbing things and costing lots of money.
It rained in the last few hours that we were here, which turned out good as I would have got a very wet bum as they don’t stop the tours because of any rain it has to be a cyclone or floods to stop them.
We then set sail again at 6pm bound for Port denarau
