On Thursday we traveled from Berlin to Prague by train. We got the luxury of sitting in coach (basically first class). There were 6 seats in a little cabin and the seats reclined all the way down. Of course we did the only appropriate things and created a giant bed.. Only to later get scolded by the German train attendant because our shoes were on the seats (German's are very strict about their rules).

Arriving in Prague in early afternoon and walking outside, the weather seemed a little warmer and way better than in Berlin. That evening we had another walking tour of the city. Because it started a little earlier in the evening and that afternoon was warmer, I didn't think I would need to dress as warm as I did in Berlin..... but of course, I was wrong once again. If anything I learned over this week was to never trust my senses with the weather, because I always seem to get it wrong. Despite my toes slowly becoming numb throughout the tour, I really enjoyed it. The beautiful cobbled-stone city was full of historic buildings and side streets with tons of unique stores and restaurants.

After walking around aimlessly that night for an hour (mostly because the boys were too arrogant to ask for directions), we found a typical Czech restaurant to eat at. We ordered hot mulled wine (a speciality there) to start the course with. I had the hardest time deciding what to order, but when my meal came out, I knew I made the right choice. Although we were all a bit anxious and annoyed at the start of the meal because we were so hungry, it turned out to be the most delicious meal I have had while abroad!

The next day we visited the Anglo-American University to listen to two speakers (a professor and a Czech journalists). Because we were all out a little too late the night before drinking and dancing at "Double Trouble," staying awake for the speakers became quite the challenge. After fighting through our tiredness and getting through the meeting, we had the rest of the afternoon free. We decided to start the afternoon with a nice little meal in the town before traveling to the Prague Castle.. 534 Koruna's later (about $26 US Dollars), we realized we were scammed and our afternoon quickly went down hill... Walking around the city and trying to accept the fact we just spent that much on a lunch that consisted of soup, salad, and a small dessert, was a challenge. But we soon accepted our mistake and learned an important lesson to not get pulled into restaurants by random Czech restaurant owners...

That afternoon turned back around after exploring the beautiful old castle and taking in more of the city. For our last night in Prague, we knew we had to celebrate accordingly. After dinner, we began the night in a huge underground bar with multiple rooms. From there we attempted to make our way to Karlovy Lazne, the largest night club in Central Europe. After getting lost for 30 minutes and finally finding a taxi to drive us there, we arrived to the club at around 2:30 AM (Europeans don't sleep). The club had 5 stories and each one had a different music theme/genre. Of course, my friend and I managed to be the first ones to make it up on the stage/catwalk above the dance floor... We stayed at the club dancing until 5:30 AM when the club had last call and made it back just in time for the hotel to start serving breakfast...

The next day I fought through my tiredness to enjoy my last morning in Prague. I got to walk around the city a little more, do some shopping, and visit the John Lennon Wall. Of course after my long week, I crashed on the 10 hour bus ride back to Freiburg and slept the entire time, only waking up for out rest stop at McDonalds.

My first EUROtrip was definitely a success and I can't wait to book my next one!
