Ah, today was a very early start for being vacation.  I was once again unable to sleep with nervous excitement.  So I got up at 4:00 am.  Off to the race course I went for the 7:00 am start.  I did have an hour drive but it only took 45 minutes at that time of day :)  the race was ok.  I didn't hit the time I wanted but at least now I know what part of the race I need to train on for my tris.  The course itself was good.  Some quick hills at the beginning and end and the flat lake circling.  I would run this race again.
After the race comes  the Great American Pie Festival.  Do not scoff.  This is legit with a bake off sponsored by Pillsbury and Crisco.  They had your major players in the retail pie market there, Publix, Winn Dixie, Village Inn/Baker's Square and some locals.  I really had 11 pieces of pie.  I think I got my money's worth for the all you can eat.  And a scoop of ice cream.  Good thing the race was this morning or I don't think I should have been able to eat that much.  I think my favorite was the Candy Cane from Baker's Square.  It could have been the Peanut Butter but it was too late in the day and I was sugared up and out. Once I comedown from the sugar high, I think I will sleep like a log tonight.  I am worn out from all the fun today.

I think that is the beach I hear calling my name. Hmmm.  Tomorrow????
