Where I stayed
It was a long day/night last night. After the crew got lost(?) in DTW and the plane was delayed, I finally made it to the hotel about 1:30 am. The best part about it, I slept til 5:30 without waking. Yeah what happened to my ability to sleep all the time.
The tranquil fountain in DTW is a nice little time waster for a couple minutes. Not to ruin the surprise but it does the dancing water thing only on a much much smaller scale than the Bellagio.
When I get to the hotel, I see they have MY room ready for me. Seriously 3 stays and the exact same room number. Hmmm. I think someone is making use of the profiling software you know business has. I appreciate the gesture at least and it is a decent room. Now if I could get the same room I had at the HWV next time I go.... I would be booking that ticket now!
Now the rental car is a classic. I pull the doofus move and walk up to Hertz and say hey where's my car and then I realize it is over at National. I blame it on the late hour. So I get in the car and discover it has an aux in jack. Being the geek, of course I have the cable for my iPhone. I knew there was a reason I picked National over Hertz. Yeah and the price and selection of cars. So I am enjoying the drive down the BW Parkway and feeling the bass. I mean seriously folks we are talking night club bass. Driving in the dark it is not so easy to anything except adjust the volume in a rental car. So this morning in the light I find the controls, and guess what. Some nut case had the bass at 11. And then the funniest item about the car... The key ring says Enterprise. I swear the receipt says National and I was talking to a guy in a National outfit when I rented the vehicle.
Now this hotel, I highly recommend them if you want room service. The menu is not extensive but what they do have they do right. The salad again rocked. Pasta primavera in a tomato cream sauce is tasty. Good work people.
Let's hope tomorrow is filled with happiness and joy.
