After we left Istanbul by noonish, the boat headed to the island of Mykonos. Apparently it is THE party island out of all the greek islands, and it was very disappointing to get there at 5pm because that meant we couldn't head to the very famous Paradise and Super Paradise beaches on the other side. It is all white washed and blue trim buildings here, and tons of jewelry shopping. Low end (beads) to high-end (Chopard). Windy narrow streets you can go wandering for days.

Jen and I mosied around, and then stopped to have dinner alone the oceanfront where we watched the sun set. They have gigantic lobsters, but we passed because they also come with gigantic prices per kilo. Then we went to Rhapsody Bar with the other group members and had a few drinks at this very busy, but probably very young person touristy bar. Jen and I were really wanting to go to Club Ramrod for dancing that night, but we had to be back on the boat by 11:30pm. Gay bars are so much fun to dance in, so it was very disappointing.

Mykonos nightlife apparently starts very late, I wouldn't be suprised to know that it would start happening after midnight. We read in a travel book that a famous Paradise Beach club doesn't open until 3am! However, I would totally recommend this place for partiers, and for couples, because it's very romantic and scenic and laid-back. The most honeymoony of all the islands we've been to.
