Dashed from Santiago to the beachside town of Valpressio and what turned out to be a big night of Pisco Sours with Pauli.  It is always nice to see a town with a local, they know all the good places to go.

Turned out to be 24 hours of intensive Spanish lessons and a great time.  Good food, good drinks and great company - great to finally be able to chat face to face.

The effort to get to the airport definately deserves a mention.  Leaving Valpressio at 10pm the guidebook tells you to get off at a place called "Prada de Taxi" if you want to get to the airport - only a ten minute cab ride.  Now this "Prada de Taxi" is simply a spot on the side of a deserted highway where taxis wait for people, unfortunately at 11:30pm there are no taxis there.  So standing alone on the side of the highway miles from anywhere in the dark the question was what to do... Well pack on (thanks again Hock and Chad for all the "pack work") and the sight of planes taking off in the distance made up my mind - 12km and nearly two hours later I had walked to the airport, still plenty of time for my 7am flights...
