Guys when I am less hung over I will write about all the other gems the Hock and I have been up to but im dying to tell this one now. Last night Hocks and I decided on our last night travelling together, as a spurge, we would enter a high stakes poker tournament in Budapest. With the entry / re-buy fee being about the equivalent of a months basic Hungarian wages and it being a Saturday night the cream of the Hungarian poker community was out in force. The Hock and I connected on a few "premiums", played tight aggressive poker and made it to the first break at 2 hours, where we continued to talk tactics. When we made it to final 20 and the second break, the chat continued and the pressure and expectation was building. Unfortunately Hocks' AK got taken down and I was left to fight on to the final table myself. Battling for six long hours I eventually left 263,250 Hungarian Florent the richer (about $2000 - ASDs) with my name scrolling across the LCD screens around the Casino as the tourneys third place getter.
... 3rd place - Dr Rick Catterwell 263 250 HUG...
Is it a start to a professional poker career???
