Today I thought I'd find a slice of British pop culture down on Abbey Road, specifically Abbey Road Studios, which was made extremely famous as the recording studio of choice by such acts as the Beatles (especially their Abbey Road album cover) and Pink Floyd. Many other artists have recorded at Abbey Road Studios as well, such as MGMT, Kate Bush, Florence and the Machine, Michael Jackson, Radiohead, and Sigur Rós.  Recently, in 2009, the owners put the studios up for sale due to debts.  As the UK realized they might lose one of their prized possessions, the government declared the building as "listed" meaning that it is now protected as it is and changes to the structure are now forbidden.  EMI, the record company that owns the building, has stated that they wish to keep the establishment as a functioning recording studio.

Just a short walk from Abbey Road is Regent’s Park.  The park was filled with birds of all kinds, much more than I saw in Hyde Park.  After cutting through Hyde Park, I walked up Primrose Hill which offers views similar to those found at Greenwich Park.  The area surrounding Primrose Hill is apparently full of celebrity homes like Tim Burton, Gwen Stefani, Kate Moss, and Jude Law, though I unfortunately didn’t see them.

P.S. Abbey Road Studios before being remodeled as a studio in the 1930's was a nine bedroom Georgian townhouse.
