We fuelled up in Petaluma and stopped at a cheese factory we passed on the way and tried a few of their samples. We arrived at the Visitor Centre at Point Reyes around 3pm and with their help planned a couple of things to do before it got too dark. Firstly, we walked the Earthquake Trail. A short walk near the San Andreas Fault which explained how earthquakes happen, etc. Next we drove the 20.5mile road to Point Reyes Lighthouse and got a little bit of the history from a ranger there. As it was getting late, we decided to quickly drive up Mt Vision Road to catch the sunset. We only just made it and on the way down had to drive through the mist that was coming in. We left Point Reyes around 5.30pm, just as it was getting dark and started our journey to Fairfield.
