Arrived at the park entrance just after 9am, picked up a map and headed out along the scenic drive. We managed at some point during our visit, to stop at almost all overlooks and pull outs and we also squeezed in a couple of short walks as well. Canyonland National Park is split into four main sections and we had chosen to visit only one - Islands in the Sky. This was amazing. The canyons were huge and varyed so much. We only hope our photos can do them justice. After our visit here, we're looking forward to seeing the Grand Canyon. We have also decided, at some point in the future, to come back and explore here some more as it's so vast and there is an off road trail, the White Rim Road, that we want to have a shot at, but not in Brian! Around 2.30pm we headed off and left the canyons behind us, looking for a campground for the night. We made it Blanding, where we found a reasonably priced ($20pn) campground and parked up. After registering at the Shell garage next door, we cooked dinner, (our $5 bbq ribs, yummy), watched a downloaded episode of Desperate Housewives and went to bed.
15th Nov.
Got up around 7.30am, had breakfast and took our time checking emails, packing up the van, etc. We left the RV park around 9.30am off to Natural Bridges National Monument.
