Arrived around 9.30am and went straight into the Visitor Centre to watch a short movie about the Pueblos, the first native people. We then headed out to wander around the site looking at how these people had moved from living underground to building on top of the ground. One thing that was noticeable, was the small doorways. However, we don't believe that the people were that small, they just built them that way to reduce the cold. Ingenious really! This is one of the only sites that these ruins have roofs on and also a reconstructed kiva - usually believed to be a ceremonial room. We left Aztec around 11am and headed north to Colorado.
