15th Sept.

Up and off early at 7.30am and headed north towards Amherst, where we stopped to do our two loads of laundry, (for $5 instead of $10) and while we waited had breakfast. We then headed across the border out of Nova Scotia into New Brunswick to the nearest Visitor Centre to check email. Email checked and still no sign of our flight e-tickets, (getting a little nervous now). However, we did discover that we had missed the tides for today at Hopewell Rocks. This is where you can 'walk on the ocean floor' and the difference between low & high tides are so great that when the tide is out you can actually walk under the rocks. We decided to miss this and catch the tidal bore at Moncton again, but unfortunately, it was early and we missed this too. Mother Nature seems to be working against us today! We continued on the Fundy coastal route and stopped at Chocolate River for lunch and then at Alma for one of Kelly's famous sticky buns. Yum, yum! The scenic route then continued to St Martins where we witnessed boats landing on crates at low tide and also saw some sea caves. We then headed off towards Saint John looking for somewhere to stop for dinner, but decided as it had been a long day, to have an A&W burger, (with scrummy onion rings), instead. It was actually very nice. After dinner we headed off to, (you guessed it), Walmart for another night. Once we got settled in, we had a nice cup of tea, cookies and milk, watched Desperate Housewives and then got off to bed.
