28th Aug.

Got up at 7.45am and drove to the outskirts of the city where we had breakfast in McD's car park. After we'd used their wi-fi and checked the weather forecast  we headed out towards Quebec city along the scenic route. We had heard the news about how far up the edge of Hurricane Irene's storm would get and decided that a campsite on the way to wait it out would be a good idea. We drove along for an hour or so with the weather getting worse trying different campsites on the way and found one about 40kms out of the city. We settled in showered, had dinner and then watched a movie, Into The Blue, while the rain poured down outside. However, this time, no leaks as the sealant hadn't worked inside, good old duck tape outside, had done the job. Around 11pm we got off to bed and tried to get some sleep with the rain still hammering down and the wind gently (for now) rocking the van.

29th Aug.

Woke up around 9am to a cloudy but dry sunny day. Thankfully the weather in the night hadn't got any worse and we managed to get a good nights sleep. We decided to take our time this morning and make use of the laundry and wi-fi to Skype Cat's mum and dad.
