We arrived into Toronto about 4pm and stopped on the outskirts to dip our toes in Lake Ontario. Toes well and truely dipped, we set about the task of finding somewhere to park. As big cities go, Toronto is fairly easy to navigate, especially when we have a map! So we eventually found a meter we could park at for a few hours that wasn't too far from the CN Tower. Once we'd parked, we bought our tickets and went up the tower, right up to the top into the Skypod with a stunning view of the city. From this advantage point we could see some crazy people walking around the outside of the tower (at a cost of $175 plus tax). On a windy day like today, not really our cup of tea, so we decided to head down to the observation deck and glass floor before exiting back out onto the street below. We then spent a few hours wandering round the city looking at the sites and found an open air movie theatre playing the Muppets Movie tonight at 8.30pm. So we went back to the van at 8pm, cooked some hotdogs, paid another hour at the meter and set off for the movie. We noticed a little lightening on the way and sure enough an hour or so later it started to rain and 10 or 20 mins before the end of the moved, they stopped the film, as it was really turning into a heavy down pour. So we walked back to the van and drove out of the city to a Walmart that we had planned to stay at earlier. The drive out was pretty scary, with lots of big fork lightning and loud thunder that shook the ground. We got to Walmart around 11pm made a nice cup of tea, washed up and got off to bed around midnight.
25th Aug.
Had a lie-in to 9am, as neither of us wanted to get up this morning.
