On the way to Madison, we passed through a village called Cobb who was hosting a car show and corn eating competition, so thought we'd have a look. Some of the cars were in lovely condition and ranged from vintage to early 2000's and were all lovely to look at. The sweetcorn eating contest started around 1pm with 13 people trying to eat as much as they could in 3mins. Last year's winner of eating 13 in 5mins was there but was beaten by the chap that was sitting next to him by eating 9 and a half. Obviously it was less as the time was shortened for some reason. As there was plenty of sweetcorn left, we all were allowed to dig in and enjoy the lovely sweet sweetcorn they grow everywhere round here. The final event was the 50/50 challenge and people had to bet on how long a donated car would run with no oil or water in it. It did pretty well at 28mins before it finally died even after catching fire but the firemen were quick to put it out. We (as were most) weren't there to see the end as the heavens opened and Cat and I took shelter in a porter loo! After waiting 15mins we ran across to the fire station and got chatting to a couple of local gals who asked us if we were going to tonight's dance. We said we'd think about it and asked where the nearest campsite was and when the rain eased we went back to the van to check it out. Unfortunately, the campsite had no electrical sites so we put our dancing shoes back and got on our way to find the next one. We were recommended another site and 15 miles later we arrived at Tom's Campsite. He only had a tent spot left but said that it would be ok to park there and use the electric for the cost of a tent so that saved us $10. So we settled in for the afternoon reading whilst listening to the rain on the roof and watching a new leak form. I fell asleep and woke up again around 6pm to cook dinner and we decided that we were too far away to head back for the dance and thought we'd have a relaxing evening. After dinner, we showered, then watched a Hotel Babylon and got off to bed.
