5th Aug cont.

As we were running a bit later than we thought, we drove down the highway to the outskirts of Mitchell and found a very nice and reasonably priced campsite for the night. After we'd settled in, we had dinner, showered and then caught up with some internet before getting off to bed.

6th Aug.
Had a nice lie-in this morning and after breakfast we decided to take it easy this morning. Around 1pm at check out time, we got ourselves sorted and drove towards Mitchell. Once in Mitchell, we stopped in at the Visitor Centre to get some info, then fueled up round the corner, and then visited the only Corn Palace in the World. It's not made entirely out of corn as it was when it was first built, but the entrance and side wall has some specatular art work in the form of sweetcorn. Inside we had a tour and a video of how and why it was built which was fascinating. After that we had lunch and then drove to McD's for an ice cream sundae before heading off on the highway.
