Got up around 8.30am and enjoyed breakfast looking at the views of Skagway. We then headed into town to have a look round and collect the coins from the jewelery shops. We then went back to the ship to get ready for our train ride on the White Pass and Yukon Railroad up to the Canadian/American border at White Pass. The train climbed up through the snowy mountains past waterfalls and over wooden bridges with some amazing views. At the top we stopped just over the border by a frozen lake that had blue and green water puddles where we waited for the train engine to change from the front to the back. We then flipped the seats over so that we could sit facing the right way and began our descent back down. We passed the five flags of the USA, Alaska, British Columbia, the Yukon and Canada, all the regions the railway passes through, and also an obelisk that marks the border. When we got back down we went back to the ship for afternoon tea and then had a rest in our cabin. At 6.30pm we headed to the Celebrity Theater for tonights show, Boogie Wonderland. After the show (which was a lot of fun) we went up to the top deck for a 70's music trivia and would you believe it, we won. Proud of our triumph we went downstairs to eat at the seated restaurant at our allocated time of 8.30 and met up with the people on our reserved table for the first time. There was another English couple, (mother and son) John and Ann from Epsom and an Amercian couple Alison and Courtney (Courtney was Alison's husband) from California. It was nice to sit and eat a nice set meal with waiter service and enjoy their company for a change. I had Snails for nibbles and Strawberry soup for starters which was a few unusuals, that I'd never had before, but when it's free you don't mind experimenting now and then. After dinner we went back to our cabin to catch up on some things and get some sleep.
