After a better nights sleep we decided to take it easy, sort some washing out and get some food and water shopping done. (It's not all rock and roll traveling the world!)

4th Oct
Feeling much better we got up to catch a bus to Tambomachay and Pukapukara.
Whilst waiting for the the bus we were told (we think, we don't know as it was lost in translation) you should be getting the bus somewhere else as they were all full, so we decided to walk to Cristo Blanco (the white Christ) and catch a bus from there. It only took about 40 mins and we needed to get back into it for the Inca trail in a few days time. These two sites are rather smaller than the others so didn't take too long to see so we then caught the bus back to Cristo Blanco and walked back to the city in time for lunch at San Pedro market where we had chicken supreme maryland which was fried chicken and chips on rice topped with egg, fried banana and avocado.

5th Oct,
Had a bit of a lie-in and then a look around the Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun) with it's beautiful stonework, paintings and history. In the Museuo de Sitio Qoricancha we read about some, lets just say weird stuff about the Incas, (cutting holes in heads and mummification). After some lunch at the market the heavens opened and we had to dive for cover as it started with hailstones and finished with rivers of water running down the street. When the rain eased off we headed to the Santa Catalina monastery (which is still in use) and found that quite interesting. We had a bite to eat for dinner and then at 7.30pm we went to Llama Path to meet our guide and have our briefing for tomorrows start of the Inca Trail. Then early to bed as we were being picked up at 4.15am!
