My dear friend Veve and I were missing this buddy of ours who is set to fly to Singapore in a few weeks so we decided to visit him at his hometown. He's always been the one who travels long hours to Manila just to see his friends so we figured why not go the distance and visit him for a change?

Traveling to Tagaytay via public transportation is kind of exhausting especially when you've just come out of a 9-hour work shift and you have to take a taxi to the bus station, take a bus to the province, and balance a box carefully so that the chocolate mousse cake won't be squished. The funniest thing, though, was Veve. Because she was also exhausted from her shift, she slept through the bus ride on the way to our friend's place. Every time the bus stopped to let a passenger in or out, Veve would jerk awake for a moment from her sleep, stand up and exclaim loudly to the driver "We're here! We're getting off here!" (Dito na po kami!). After that she would just sit back down and continue to sleep. It was so hilarious! I can still remember the startled looks from the bus driver and the conductor every time Veve wakes up. Priceless!

I found Tagaytay to be really refreshing, a break from the polluted Manila air. There's a lot of trees and farms along the road. Our friend Bong drove us around the city to just relax, chat and have fun. Veve and I will surely miss Bong. I find that he's really nice, humble and sincere. We're not sure yet what his plans are and how long he's gonna stay in Singapore but we wished him well nonetheless.
