Flight to Narita, Japan

Okay, okay... I confess that I am an Otaku. According to Mr. Wikipedia, an Otaku is a Japanese term used to refer to people with obsessive interests, particularly anime, manga, or video games. I do not necessarily obsess about Japanese culture but my interest can be regarded as above-average. I've  played an unhealthy amount of video games (a good number of which are developed in Japan), spent countless hours reading manga, drew characters from my favorite Animes, gone to Ani-cons and have pictures taken with cosplayers.

So when I learned that the first leg of my trip to New Jersey would make a stop in Japan I was no less than ecstatic. I was blessed enough to get a window seat so even before we landed on Narita Airport I already had a good view of Japan's landscapes and skylines.

To say that Japan is generally organized is a grave understatement. From my view of the window in the plane I marveled at the beautiful Japanese piers, farms, roads, highways and communities that all formed neat patterns. It was like looking down on very intricate and organized display models of cities.

I will never forget the beauty of Japan, with the little that I've seen so far. The general feel that one gets is of wonder and amazement. They have vending machines for anything and everything: Wasabe-flavored drinks of all things! I was tempted to buy my own Yukata but I hesitated because I bore in mind that an emergency might come up in the near future and I had to be ready to shell out cash. I figured that I can always spend any leftover money on the return trip to the Philippines.
