We got to have a sleep in today so I didn't go to breakfast until around 9am. The other thing the Brazilians seem to like is sweet food for breakfast - this one I'm not happy with! We always joke that it's a challenge to find something not sweet for breakfast - I managed to as I has a small bread roll with a slice of ham and cheese - and a coffee. 

After breakfast we walked back into town (starting to become very aquatinted with every inch of this road!) then through the town to the port as today we were going on a boat for 5 hours. What a perfect way to spend a sunny hot day. Paratay has 65 islands and 300 beaches nearby!  We hadn't been on there long before our first caprihina's were served! We were entertained with an interesting selection of Brazilian party music and made our way to the first place we were going to stop for a swim.  We all jumped off the boat into the beautiful water and I swam off with goggles and snorkel on.  I saw several star fish but nothing much else that impressed me. Snorkeling off Thailand islands and Fiji has spoilt me I suppose. Still it was so lovely to be swimming - very refreshing indeed. The rest of the time was spent motoring to different spots so we could swim. We had a lovely cooked lunch of fish with a prawn sauce and salad and many more caprihina's.  A fantastic way to spend the day especially after the hot sweaty day yesterday. 

We returned to port around 5pm feeling refreshed and finally on holiday! Walked back to our Pousada and had a shower and relaxed for a while.  At 7:30 we met to walk back into town for dinner. Tonight we are having dinner with one of the few Brazilian families that have lived in the old town for centuries - a Brazilian BBQ ! It was really great to step into a colonial house off the busy street and step back in time to experience life in this port a century or so ago. We had a fabulous meal where we got to experience food from Brazil ( which I can't pronounce!) plus lovely BBQ'd meat. My favourite is a type of salsa - fresh tomato, onion, green capsicum chopped up into to tiny pieces with lots of lime & vinegar. You have this with meat or you pile it onto garlic bread to have a sort of bruschetta!  I could just live on this!  After dinner we wandered around the town as every bar & restaurant had tables on the cobblestone streets with music and street vendors all around. What a great atmosphere. Unfortunately we were leaving the next morning at 5:30 so this curbed our enthusiasm for joining in and we decided to head back to the hotel to pack. After packing and spending a bit of time on the Internet then reading some of my book, I went to sleep just after 12.
