One other thing we did while we were on Andros is checkout one of the many famous "Blue Holes". The Blue Holes, which are located inland as well as in the sea, are entrances to elaborate cave systems. They have been the subject of much exploration by famous scientists and biologists including the Cousteau exploration team. Here is the one we visited, called "Uncle Charlies Blue Hole".
There was a ladder to climb down to the water so you could swim and a rope swing. Phil climbed down and dipped his foot in the water and declared it much too cold for swimming!! Plus it was kind of creepy......
Well, our week at Pleasant Dreams came to an end and after saying goodbye to Hank and his little boy, Aaron,
we went to the airport where Mom took off for Nassau and we flew back up to Abaco to stay at Marsh Harbour.
Cherokee Aviation is the really nice new FBO at Marsh Harbour--very professional and upscale! We arranged to stay at the Lofty Fig,
a nice collection of little cottages right on the main drag in Marsh Harbour.
I really liked Marsh Harbour compared to Treasure Cay. There are lots of little art shops and boutiques, and restaurants. We took the ferry to Hope Town one day, for shoppping, and sightseeing.
Then the next day we went over to Guana Cay to enjoy the famous Sunday Pig Roast and buffet at Nipper's--a real cool bar & grill right on the beach! The beach below Nipper's is on the Atlantic side so the surf was kind of high but the beach was nice and wide.
