Loving life in Koh Tao. This place is really relaxed and friendly and still relatively quiet as the big summer season hasn't quite kicked in yet. We're staying at a place called the Coral Grand Resort, really nice place and we get really cheap accomodation as Rich is doing his open water diving course with them. Yesterday we spent the afternoon snorkeling. We went on one of the diving boats out to a place called shark bay! Slightly ominous but quite safe we were assured! Absolutely stunning scenery, little bays surrounded by palm trees and rocks, with lots and lots of coral to explore. I've never snorkelled before so it was really like seeing into a new world for me. The visibility was really good and we managed to see loads of fish; bright blue, orange, yellow, big scholes of them. At first it felt really odd, being so close to so many fish but I soon got used to it. It was absolutely freezing (well compared to what we've been used to) when we got out of the water and there mad dashes for hot chocolate, pineapple cookies and fresh pineapple and melon to lift the sugar levels. We stopped at a second bay which was even better, lots to see and really good visibility. Unfortunately it started to rain so we had to head back- unbelievably choppy sea, held on really really tight all the way back!
We went out with all divers on the boat that evening to a place called Evergreen- the most amazing massaman curry, so so full afterwards!
Rich did his first dive today, he loved it! They did a confined dive today, then he does two more tomorrow and two more the day after that. They go to a depth of 18 meters! I'm quite tempted to doit too but I don't think my budget or my nerves will cope!
Whilst Rich did his dive I amused myself with a manicure and pedicure by the beach! Really nice lady, going to go back for a massage tomorrow.
I'll try and sort out some photo's to add tommorrow. Gotta go now as Rich has his homewor to do before diving tomorrow!

Hello my lovely! Pleased to hear that you are still having lots of fun and glad that you have recovered from your illness! Definately worth the journey to make sure you were safe! Life in Thailand sounds totally idyllic-you'll be so chilled out when you come back! v.jealous bout the snorkelling and diving - i love snorkelling. One day we'll have to explore further afield! Life in Lincoln is much the same, its been mega hot recently so been trying to create some sort of a tan! All's the same on job front, as ever, but you never know whats round the corner! Hope you enjoyed your massage...
