Funny enough going back to kite school feels a little like coming home, kite surfers are a pretty friendly bunch. Firstly the bad news, the boiler has blown since our last visit hence there is no hot water...... am I being punished for being too clean a person in a previous life.
On day one I end up sharing kiting equipment with a Russian guy, good lad who I get on very well with and is descent enough not to mention the football. I borrow his board and what is this, I'm up out and skimming along for what seems a life time (probably about 60 seconds) happy days. Day 2 and I have no problem getting out of the water but staying up is still a challenge as I seem to start going too fast and loose control roughly after 10 to 20 seconds, all in all very happy with progress.
On the Cat front, she does her beginners course but gets a bit short short changed due to the fact that she has 2 others on the course with her, we need to spend more time working on body dragging and kite control.
Oh by the way Cat has been poisoning us over the last couple of weeks, basically we have been taking weekly malaria tablets on a daily basis. Fortunately the side effects are only, sickness, irrated stomach and death. Now I didn't want to mention this earlier as I though some people might become concerned, the good news (though some may disagree) is that we are both very much alive and it is 7 days since we stopped taking the tablets.
Went out for a couple of nights with the Russian couple (well she's actually from Romania but its all eastern Europe to me), shock horror we end up polishing off more Flor de Cana.
Anyhow we have a cracking day ahead of us tomorrow as we travel diagonally across the whole Costa Rica, at least a 10 hour bus journey with no toilet, oh joy!
