The Mekong is one of the most colorful places in the world to travel through. Giant Buddhas rise from temples as you float along one river tributary after another. Locals conduct life entirely on the rivers themselves - fruits and vegetables are sold, lottery tickets are purchased, fish are farmed, and children sell beer to adoring tourists as individuals make their living on houseboats and shore-side shanties.
