The big events that finished up N.Y. are: Dinner at my cousin Mel's house for Rosh Hashanah. Here Casey got to meet my family for the second time, dinner was more tasty Jewish soul food for Casey. With brisket, kasha Varnishkes, Mazto Ball soup, and some Babka for dessert. It was great seeing my aunt and uncle and cousins again, I don't get home all that often. The next day we started out on the beach again, until my mom's side of the family came over for brunch. This consisted of the best bagels on earth and egg and tuna salad. This was also a celebration for my Aunt Bunny's birthday. We all then went to visit my grandmother (nanny). This was an interesting visit as it always is. But she actually remembered Casey which was pretty cool. Our Final meal in the Big Apple was at the Outback Steak house, I know this is not really a NY food or special, but it is me and my dads favorite steak dinner
Now to the title of this story. Early and I mean early yesterday morning my parents woke us up and drove us to the train station in Longbeach with a stop for bagels and coffee. We took the train into the city were we got on the subway to the bus terminal, we took the bus to Washington DC where we walked a few blocks to get the metro(subway/train). We took the metro to the end of the line where my buddy Phil picked us up to drive back to his house. Casey and I meet his 2 month old baby Lindsay for the first time. This is why we are here at Phil and Kemps house. Lindsay is so cute and has the fullest head of hair I have ever seen on a 2 month old. It is also very weird and awesome to see Phil who I have know since the 5th grade or so in the role of Daddy. He is not my first friend to have a kid but it still seems weird and I'm not sure I will get used to the idea of all my friends having babies. While visiting we have been mainly chilling and watching Lindsay, we have played some cards and shoveled dirt. Yeah he made us do some manual labor for room and board. It has been great seeing Phil, Kemp and Lindsy again!
Our trip is starting to feel real now, I guess that is because we leave in the morning. Phil is dropping us off at the airport tonight and we are going to spend the night sleeping(I hope) in the airport and then we fly out around 7:30am. If you read this before we fly wish us luck on our $47 tickets with USA3000, If you read this after we fly keep looking for an update to make sure we made it down there, and aren't stuck on some weird bus or cargo flight.
See you in Mexico!!!!!
