Well, after a few hours of sleep and a terrible way to wake up in the morning, it was time to get ready for Big Day Out. This all-day festival has been a tradition in Australia since the 90's; it travels from city to city in the summer, and Sydney was the first show of the tour. This year, Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Killers were headlining, with heaps of other bands and artists performing all day. Since Sydney was supposed to be hitting highs of about 115 degrees, we loaded up on sunscreen and wore barely any real clothes haha. We headed on down to the train stations to travel to Olympic Park for the shows.

When we arrived, we knew the first DJ we wanted to see was Morgan Page, and he was playing in the Boiler Room (very appropriate name). So we headed on in around 2:00pm, through the griminess of all the unsupervised and basically naked children/kids, and made our way to the front rail, right in front of the stage/speakers. We stayed in the exact same spot from then on until 10pm - no food, no bathrooms, and getting manhandled by everyone trying to get past us. We saw 9 DJs in all including Morgan Page, Nicky Romero, Pretty Lights, and Kaskade (he's the reason we wanted those spots until 10pm - he played from 9-10). We got pushed and shoved and sprayed with hoses (we appreciated that part, though, as it was SO HOT) and because we were in the front, the security guards also passed out water to keep us hydrated the whole time. Its really hard to explain exactly what went on for those 8 hours of nonstop standing, but in the end it was totally worth it. We were ecstatic to finally get home, shower, and go to bed.. It was exactly what we needed after a day like today.
