After such a long day/night yesterday, we wanted to have a relaxing day before heading to the Opera House to see the show. So, we decided to go to the Sydney Aquarium. We were not prepared for it at all...

We walked from our hostel to Darling Harbour where the Aquarium is located (about a 20 minute walk from the Rocks - where our hostel is located) and stopped at a very cool sandwich/salad bar place - I got half tuna pasta and half chicken caesar salad. It was delicious! When we got to the Aquarium, it was absolutely PACKED. And by packed I mean screaming, unsupervised children EVERYWHERE. It was not what we were expecting at all, so we ended up zipping through the exhibits just to escape the screams. I still got some pretty shots though :).

On our way back we walked by a shop called Factorie that was similar to a Forever 21. I got a pair of shoes that i'm going to wear to Big Day Out on Friday, and then a maxi dress (everyone here wears maxi dresses). I was happy with my purchases :).

Finally, it was time for the Opera House. We all got dressed up in our cute and modest dresses to go see La Bohème. We only had a 10 minute walk up to the Harbour so we popped into the Opera Bar for a quick dinner before the show. Everything was tasty and the views were magnificent. Finally, it was time for the show. Being that this was Sara and my first Opera, I wasn't sure what to expect - especially since it was in Italian with English Subtitles. Luckily, I bought a keepsake program that had a short synopsis that I was able to read in order to understand everything. It was a very sad opera, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't think I'll become a buff anytime soon, but when you have the chance to see an opera at the iconic Sydney Opera House, you do it. It was a once in a lifetime experience!
