Back to school, it seems strange but we are all eager to learn more Spanish, it's become addictively exciting. After school we went to the beach for a long spell, well over 3 hours. I had heard that there was a beach club called Marmitas that had a pool, was next to the beach and didn't cost much for stay at for a few hours. One problem was that I could not remember the name of it while we were looking for it, so we couldn't ask for directions, we just headed along the beach in the general direction that I was told it was in, hoping for a sign of some sort. After about 20minutes, very hot and bothered we stopped and talked about heading back to our favorite beach spot, or rather the only spot we had been to, near the downtown area we had used before. Next to us was a small post that had a very simple map of the beach on it. On closer examination discovered that we were standing right next to the beach club. There were no big signs and it wasn't exactly discernible from any other area, it had the usual sun beds and umbrellas, and over oiled lazy tourists. We went in for a closer look and almost tripped over the pool. It was smaller than the pool we used to have in our backyard in Australia when we had lived on the outskirts of Brisbane. We took one look and quickly decided this was not for us and we would walk back to our favorite spot. There we went, it was on our way home anyway. We stayed swimming and bathing there for 3 hours, a real lazy afternoon. When we eventually returned to our apartment, I checked my emails. At last we heard from the Spanish teacher in Venezuela. The teacher I had been recommended had at last returned my email with a positive note about lessons, it has taken over two weeks for the reply. I immediately responded but this does not bode well. We need lessons in about 2 weeks time.
