I thought I'd be taking class on my own from now on, but Michele came in to help and although the class worked well and they behaved, I think it was only because Michele was there. It's understandable, if a little frustrating that they are good as gold for someone who has been there for so long and play up for me.... Just made me feel a little out of my depth and a bit useless to be honest. There hasn't been any proper teacher training in my view and I really do want to teach them to the best of my ability, but I have never done this before, and I'm not really sure what I'm doing....!!!
I spoke to Nikki and Michele about my feelings in the evening, and they both assured me that I'm doing a wonderful job and that I should stop beating myself up about it. This was really nice to hear, but I have been assured that I'll get a bit more guidance from now on which has relaxed me a bit.
As I was feeling a bit poo, I went for ice cream at Cafe Mocha. I really wanted wine but it's not very readily available, so for now ice cream will do.
The good thing is that today I decided what to do with my time after the project finishes. There was a toss up between doing a safari this coming weekend and then going to Zanzibar after the project, or having a Mombasa based weekend this weekend and chill out, and then do the Masai Mara with Sean after the project. Well it was a close call as I would love to see Zanzibar but safari in the Masai eventually won. When in Kenya, you have to see it's most famous highlight ay? Now all I have to do is sort out the details, as I'm sure Sean won't take responsibility :-D
