Nice short day at school again, a 12:15 finish. I currently teach English with Dave, but it's frustrating because we obviously have different ideas and styles and I'm really keen to get going on my own, albeit scared!
I popped home to grab some lunch and headed down the the beach with Michelle, Natasha and Kayleigh – because we obviously didn't get enough sun at the weekend!
We're already taking about what to do at the weekend. I quite fancy a Mombasa based weekend, visit Old Town, Haller Park, go to a different beach... Something like that. However the girls are talking about going to Lamu. Lamu is a really lovely island on the north of the coast. There are no cars, just donkeys for transport and you can take boat trips around the island, just seems really peaceful. However this is on the list of places that the FCO HIGHLY recommend you don't visit! And if it's listed on their website, it also means that your insurance is not valid. There have been some kidnappings there over the past few months and is thought to be dangerous at the moment, or at least the bus journey to get there is. But you're in danger crossing the road everyday...! I'm tempted, it would be cool. To put my parents mind at rest – I decided a couple of days later that I wouldn't go as I wasn't keen on an 8 hour road trip to the one place that we are told not to go!
