When you dive, there is a time limit to when you are able to fly again.  It's called a decompression time or as we used to call it when I first learned to dive, "off gassing".  You have to allow the nitrogen in your bloodstream to dissipate or you'll get the bends.  That's not the only thing you can't do.
I was looking forward to having some massages while here in Puerto Galera.  I knew that I would be able to get some nice massage fairly cheap.  I was a bit surprised today when a more experienced diver said that you couldn't get a massage either while you are off gassing.  Somehow all that rubbing about the body will aggravate the nitrogen, make it angry, so to speak, make the nitrogen bubbles bigger.  Drat.  That means no massages while here because I am going to dive every day.  drat, drat, drat.  Had never heard of it but it makes sense, sort of.  Do think I'll look it up somewhere though as I am fairly sure I have had massages before soon after diving.

I guess someone was joking with you! Either that or your girlfriend didn't want a pretty little lady rubbing her hands all over you! Go and get yourself a massage
