Ash, what ash? Luckily, when Erin came to visit me last month, the entire volcanic ash problem kind of blew over, so to speak. . .

Okay, sorry about that. She was here for two weeks and was able to leave the day after the airports reopened - phew! We had a great visit - hanging out like old times, doing cheesy Dublin tours like the Guinness Brewery, Viking Splash Tour, horse drawn carriage ride, the Dublin Ghost Bus and of course fish and chips.

When we were done with Dublin city, we took a road trip around the south of Ireland. I learned to drive on the left side of the road, and Erin pulled double duty as a navigator and constant reminder not to drive into oncoming traffic.  We got warned by a policeman within 15 minutes of picking up the car, but after that it was smooth sailing. Just kidding! Between mastering traffic circles, sheep on the road, a daily tractor count (19 single day total), single lane bridges and roads just wider than a sidewalk with curves, there were definitely some interesting moments. But we managed to make to all the highlights on our list: Galway, the Cliffs of Moher, the Dingle Peninsula, Killarney, the Ring of Kerry, Blarney Castle, and even an overnight in a fancy manor house and spa in Cork.

Thanks for visiting E, it was truly great to see you again. Hope everyone is doing well, Disleys moved in ok, kids healthy (DS and MM), exams passed (RW) and classes done (JC)! Looking forward to having a good visit in Calgary in June!  See you soon

xo,
CW

p.s. this month's pub was a no brainer.
