Many of you (who were kind enough to read my ramblings from San Miguel last winter) have asked me if I intend to blog again this year while we are away.  My first inclination was to say "no".  I felt that there was a real risk of "beating it to death", much like a lame sequel to a really great movie!  I have to admit that I was thrilled that so many of you read and enjoyed my blog last year, and flattered that you wanted me to write again, but I really didn't want to subject you all to a thinly disguised "redo" of the same thing.  After some further consideration, I have decided that I am going to post entries, although probably not as prolifically as last year.  This year marks a change for Mark and I.  We will be away for ten weeks, and except for a couple of weeks when we have friends and family visiting, it will just be the two of us.  In truth, (although I will undoubtedly miss my bff Patty and our afternoon 'stitch and bitch' sessions) ,I am thrilled about this!  Those of you who know Mark and I well, also know a couple of things about us.  Firstly, Mark works in theater, and that means, he works what I call "theater" hours.  He is rarely available to socialize at normal times like Friday or Saturday evenings, leading to the situations that - a) I often attend social events alone, or - b) our close friends try to plan things around his ever changing, but rarely convenient schedule.  The second thing that those close to us know, is that we truly are each other's best friend and soul mate.  It is for this reason, that I am ecstatic to have this uninterrupted time together.  We have been fortunate to meet or come into contact with some very special people in San Miguel, and it is our hope that we can further those friendships while we are there.  Also, I do have a few side trips in mind that interest me, so I am sure that you will be hearing more about that as time goes on.
We are leaving for San Miguel on Feb. 1st, and so as they say "stay tuned."  One last thought I leave you with; so many people ask me two questions when I tell them our winter plans.  The first and obvious one is "Is it safe?" and the second question is "Is there a beach?"  I would like to suggest that if you are interested, do a quick Google search on San Miguel, and you will quickly find out where it is, there is no beach, and why we fell in love with it. As for the first question - the simple answer is YES, IT IS SAFE!, but I think I will save that topic to explore in more depth in a future entry.
Until then:
