We are back in Puerto Varas for a few days and have met some great people from all over and have spent the last couple of days in a group. 18th celebrations were a little tamer than we had envisaged but we sampled some chicha (home brew cider type stuff) and meat in the tent in town and watched some traditional dancing. Yesterday we tried to go skiing on Osorno but the wind was very strong so weŽll try again today.

Instead we ended up going to some fantastic waterfalls, seeing some Chilean foxes and going to a Rodeo. We were glad we saw the Rodeo, the horses were incredibly beautiful but it made for uncomfortable viewing occasionally when the bulls got tired and were manhandled til they got up. Essentially two men on horseback seem to chase a bull around a half circle until they can pin it to a cushion at either side, point for where you pin it. The spectacle was fun, lots of people in ponchos and great food. Unfortunately all the smoking meant we had to leave early, I could barely speak or breathe. This some of you may say is a good thing........ I also managed to leave the car lights on but luckily with quite a few of us we managed to jump start the car..
