So today we set our course for Orana Wildlife Park to see some of New Zealand's native creatures such as the kiwi bird among some of the rest of the world's animals! However, before we headed there my mum and I met my Aunty and cousin and headed for a... coffee!! The drive to Lyttelton was scenic and we passed through a tunnel under the mountains/hills and once we got there we checked out another quirky home shop and then went to 'Coffee Culture' which is a chain of coffee shops in NZ! Once again the food and coffees were divine.

Getting to Orana Wildlife Park was quite tricky but once we located the main road it was on it was just a case of following it until we reached the park. Unfortunately the kiwi bird was hiding when we went but we still saw some other really cool animals like meerkats, kangaroos, spider monkeys and the famous NZ bird the Kia!! This cheeky bird who is very curious is known for stealing things and such.. it opened my mums handbag and then attacked her! She found it hilarious and luckily was expecting it! The Kia was definitely her favourite animal at the Park! I''m planning on heading to one of the other wildlife parks in the area for hopefully a glimpse of the famous kiwi bird, or alternatively to a kiwi sanctuary up north when I go to visit my grandma (Oma) in Hamilton!

Students it is also worth noticing that they offer a small discount on entry to the park if you bring your student card with you!!

Weather wise today was beautiful!! After yesterday being so cold I was expecting the worst and wore black jeans but it got up to 23 degrees! I find it strange in Christchurch because the mornings start off so cold and the evenings are chilly too but the main part of the day is gorgeous and usually quite warm from what I have experienced so far, and don't forget this is only the start of spring so cannot wait for the warmer months to come!!

In the evening, after another one of Grandad's fabulous dinners, we went along to my cousins and Aunty's church for an evening meeting and then I went back to bed for more zzzzz!!
