After a 8 and a half hour plane journey, some dinner and breakfast, we touched down in Sydney. I wish I had been quick enough to take some pictures as the views on the cameras on both the front of the plane and bottom of the plane, which could be monitored by our mini interactive TV screens, were absolutely stunning! We flew right over the ever so blue sea and saw the beaches!

After landing we were all required to leave the plane for cleaning, however people got off the plane in Sydney anyway. The time in between was only an hour and ended up being about 15 minutes due to security and re-boarding the plane. The airport too was surprisingly small. I was in the exact same seat I was the first part of the journey, the unfortunately middle seat of the row, however had different people sat next to me. I was expecting a 3 and a half - 4 hour journey to Christchurch so was utterly delighted when the Captain of the plane announced the journey was in fact only 2 and a half!! :) :)

By now I was itching to land and see my mother so I kept myself entertained with a shark documentary (which anyone who knows me well will know I love) and a couple of episodes of friends alongside the plane food. The last hour of the journey also had beautiful views from the plane cameras of the mountains and such near Christchurch which were lovely to look at.

I arrived into Christchurch, New Zealand at 3.30pm local time and was met by my mother (& her boyfriend) at the airport.. Being a New Zealand citizen getting through security was quick as I just used the electronic gate who checked your identity by analysing your passport, and luckily my bag was like.. third off the plane!!

Having been to Christchurch many times before, but not since I was 12, Mum reminded me of the devastation caused by the earthquakes 2 years ago. Many houses are not occupied and there are currently road works every where while the city is being repaired!

The drive back to Grandad's house, where my mother and I currently live, was short and pretty sweet. I was amazed by how every house is different! In England, it's like we have a road and all the houses in that road are one style, however in Christchurch they are completely different! I remember there being quite a few bungalows too from when I was younger and there are definitely still quite a few of those - even Grandads house is a bungalow!! We took a detour down my grandparents old road which I remember from when I was younger, however it was sad to see many of the houses, including my grandparents, was no longer there as the earthquake had made the houses unsafe to live it

Once back at the house I was shown around and saw my Grandad for the first time in around 8 years!! I was also introduced into the other two residents of the home.. Millie and Martie. Two gorgeous cats and I hope I make friends with them soon ;) My cousin Jireh also came over to say hey and we walked down to my Uncle and Aunty's house and also saw my two other cousins. Their house is pretty much on the same road, barely an 100m walk between them, however they are staying in a temporary house as they're house is having repairs (earthquake again..), this other house is also on this same straight road though which leads to the Palms Shopping Centre (more on this in my next post).

After a lovely dinner made my Grandad I headed to bed at around 7pm.. after all I hadn't slept more than 3 or so hours in over 40 hours!! So night night for me!!
