Hi everyone!

I flew into Denver, Colorado from Atlanta, Georgia on Friday the 7th of January. My flight was slightly delayed which was ironic because my friend Elena got in early. It's ironic because she flew in from New Jersey where it was snowing. It was not snowing anywhere that I flew. My flights were pretty normal except the plane could hold more passengers than carry-on luggage so I had to check my one roller bag. I am kind of bummed because now all three pieces of my brand new orange luggage is pretty dirty with black streaks. I guess that is why luggage is normally black. Oh well. I still love my luggage!!!!
Anyway, back to my time in Denver. Even though Elena and I arrived later in the evening (around 8:30), Mary's parents still had dinner prepared for us that night. It was a great meal of pasta in a pesto sauce with veggies and shrimp. It was so good! Thank you so much Dirk and Fay!!! :)
The nest day (Saturday Jan. 8) Mary, Elena, and I slept in until around 10 which was around noon Eastern time. It was so wonderful to get a chance to just sleep without any worries! Once we finally got up, we went to the National West Stock Show. It was huge! We got a chance to go to the rodeo (once again thank you so much Fay for the tickets)!!! It was the first live rodeo for all three of us and it was AMAZING!!!! We saw bronco riding (bare-back and saddled), cow wrestling, cow roping, cow ground roping, barrel racing, and of course bull riding. We also got to see a couple of drill teams (brought me back to "peel the apple"), a six horse Clydesdale hitch and stage coach, and a really cool training demonstration where the rider rode without a bridle and got the horse to jump into the bed of a moving truck just by command! Of course, though, the bull riding was the most exhilarating! We all wondered at first why all of the bull riders were men but we soon figured out it was because women are generally smarter and choose not to intentionally injure ourselves!
After the rodeo, Mary, Elena, and I walked around the stock show for a little bit. We all shared a deep fried snickers! I know is sounds gross but sharing it between the three of us was manageable and actually really good. I couldn't handle the deep fried Twinkies though! I have never even eaten regular Twinkies! LOL!
That night then we all went out on the town (downtown Denver) with a group of Mary's friends. Mary and I shared a bison burger (super good), then we all went to a bar for some drinks and ended up a dance club. The dancing was so much fun!!! We stayed out until about 2AM. We were exhausted but so satisfied with the day. It was FANtastic!

Next stop...Breckenridge, Colorado!
