Have interent for about 15 mins. Having a fantastic holiday. Bhutan is so beautiful. We have been travelling through the mountains and valleys for the last few days making our way to Central Bhutan. Scenery is superb. People are very friendly always smiling and happy.
Currently in Jakar just been to 7th century monastry which had incredible frescos, also the place where the man who bought buddhism to Bhutan meditaed for months so v important place.
Tigers Nest was incredible although the hike up was a bit difficult. We have seen may dzongs these are admin buildings, courts and monastries in one. Usually in an incredible locations. Punakha dzong is the winter home of the central monastry so we were very privileged to be allowed inside. Yesterday in Trongsa we met thge governor! Needeless to say there is lots of mountains to climb - bhutanese version of a gentle leg strteching day is somewhat arduous than our version! And dont come here if you dont like steps they are everywhere!
All the buildings have wonderful wooden carvings and paintings not only the dzongs.
Have also seen a few birds including eagles and the endangered black necked cranes Also a few animals yesterday my first yak and then proceeded to have yak meat for lunch!!
Ok have to dash as I have another mountain to climb up -off to visit another tenple This evening we are going to the monastry whilst the monks are praying and we will be allowed to sit in whilst they do that....should be v interesting!
Maybe have internet in a couple of days....if not it will have to wait until i get back to India!!

Climb every mountain...........
There was a moment after visiting the mad monks monastry when someone was holding their arms out whilst crossing a field mountains in the background when I nearly did break out into "The hills are alive with the sound of music....."
