We were kicked out of our hostel in Airlie Beach this morning which left us an entire day and evening to wander without purpose around town before catching our all night bus down to 1770 at 11.30pm. We decide to go and play in a bead shop where we get very creative and make ourselves a little reminder of our time in Airlie. On a bus for 10 hours tonight - the distances are so huge - it would take 48hrs non-stop driving to travel from Cairns to Sydney. And to make matters worse our stalkers - the really loud, rough and down right vile english girls that have been following us.
Staying at Cool Bananas in 1770 and sharing in dorms tonight - fun. We decide to hitch hike to the actual town of 1770 (hostel is actually in Agnes Water) and we are picked up by two very nice ladies. We go for a wander along the beach before hitching back again. Squeaky dorm beds and a snorer (there is ALWAYS one) makes for a fun nights sleep. We had been told that 1770 was like Byron Bay was 20 years ago but there is nothing happening there! It's basically a pit stop for the travellers as they head up or down the coast - expecting much more from Byron.
