no of people determined to steal my limelight = 1
no of broken heels by the end of the day = 1
Thinking it would be a lovely way to spend my birthday Thomas and I decided
to do the Bondi to Coogee walk with Sarah and Tony. It was stunning and
Thomas and Tony especially enjoyed jumping off the rocks on the edge of a
cliff in gale force winds! However, I think Tony was a bit jealous of it
being my birthday as he decided to launch himself off one high rock onto
another, quickly followed by groans of agony and a "get me to the hospital"
plea, therefore quickly stealing my limelight and becoming the centre of
attention himself. Plain selfish whatever way you look at it! Anyway, we
hobbled to the road and hailed down a taxi to the hospital. Thomas ran on
ahead into the A&E department to inform them that Tony had been "bitten by
a midge!!" Thomas and I were quite happy waiting around to hear the verdict
until a very very green man came in with a bucket! Those who know me well
will not be surprised to hear that I was out of that hospital like a shot!
So, after an anxious wait and a CT scan we heard that Tony had broken his
heel and would be in a stookie for 6-8 weeks. Suddenly it wasn't quite as
funny anymore and our plans to travel together down to Adeliade vanished!
So we were all pretty gutted especially seeing as Thomas and I had our
flights to Perth booked already so it wasn't easy to delay things. So
now it's just the two of us travelling down and hopefully Sarah and Tony
will catch up with us in Perth.
So all in all it was a pretty exciting birthday and one I won't forget, and
neither will Tony, I will expect a card on time every year.
