after the clinic i went to the atm which is guarded by machine guns. people yell mzunga at us for benig white and they always say hello how are you i am fine and byeeeee. kids follow us down the street. earlier today i had a child holding each finger on both my hands, so ten in total and then more following behind. all of the girls at the house we are living in are darling! i am getting good at the hand clapping now and even did it with my eyes closed a few times.
we have been going to an orphanage called self reliance. there are 27 kids living there and i seriously want to take them all home! daphne fell asleep on my lap today after i rocked her for crying.
the meat here is sold on tables on the street and tonight it was lit by candlelight. i dont really trust the red meat here, it is always covered in flies.
i feel like i have so much to tell you!
my book is starting to get filled with kids' drawings. they have drawn their hands, cows, goats, pigs, houses, me... oh there are animals everywhere! beth would love it here. there are a million goats roaming the streets little pigme ones. chickens are everywhere too. we are woken up by roosters every morning.
tomorrow wer are going to see a waterfall and slide down it and rock climb too! i think it is a few hours away.
still no word on my bags.
oh beth, i might be working in the maternity ward. do you want me to deliver gentry? :)
