we got in after midnight here in iganga. it was a three hour drive from the airport. a little bit of scary drive; i dont think grandma would approve BUT i made it. here the rule of pedestrians having the right away is not true, boulder has not prepared me for the real world! ha ha
i am staying with andrea and leah at micheal's home. i guess the sister i will be staying with is at an aids/hiv walk and will get back next week. the whole family was up waiting for us and they are amazing. there are four girls from his first wife. i adore them! ana is about 18months and she follows us around and likes to show me her ragdoll... i have swapped hand clapping games with the other girls but turns out that i am not very good which makes them laugh a lot. they love down by the banks of the hanky panky. we slept in pretty tight quarters with mosquito nets over top of us.
today we have been walking around the town, playing scrabble, and having an orientation.
the food here is a hit and miss but there is plenty. i feel bad not eating it all but wow they just feed us and feed us. i did have to spit my meat out into my hand and then i had to hold it there for an hour. \
everybody is amazing! i already love it here. it is gorgeous. when we walk around all the kids run out onto the street and yell at us. everybody is so welcoming and they shake our hands and hug us.
hopefully i can write again soon!!
miss you and love you all!
