We left Etosha after a morning drive. The journey to Grootfontein is around 400 km, although on a B "road" i.e.: Good tar road. The road climbs to just over 1400 m and the countryside becomes a bit different with a few mountains around and a variety of different trees.
Grootfontein shows in the map as a big town. Well, it is not very big, however there seems to be farming activity in the surrounds. We saw maize and sunflower fields.
We booked in at the "Maori" camp site. Run by a strange german guy. He hardly speaks english. One thing he told us is that at the Botswana border they only want Rands. No Namibian dolars or Bots Pulas. Not even US dolars.
So next day went to the bank and organised a few Rands just for in case he is right.
Grootfontein does not offer much except the "Hobas Meteorite". So, there we went to see it.
It is a huge piece of metal. It looks like a pile of steel. We added the photos of the information display for you to read if interested.
We had the photos taken and went back to Maori to collect the trailer.
Our destination for the day is Rundu, 240 Km away.

PS: You wouldn't beleive it, but we had rain during the night. Not hard but it rain. Not sure whether it has to do with it, but the donkeys had a choir. One here, one there and everywhere. They make an horrible noise.
