The road to Windhoek was uphill all the way. In fact, it is a 1000m climb from Solitaire.Went through a couple of passes with wonderful scenery. Saw many streams of running water, (which is an extraordinary sight in the desert - water = life).

We wanted to go to a place called "Gross-Barmen", which is supposed to be a Hot spring. This is about 60 Km North of Windhoek. By the time we got there, it was getting dark and to our surprise, the place was closed for renovations.

So, quick change of plans and back to Windhoek "Daan Viljoen Game Reserve". Well it turned to be a very nice place. The only problem is that at 1800m altitude it gets pretty cold. The following morning we discovered that even the trailer water was frozen so we struggled to make coffee. Ouch!!!

As it was Sunday, we went around looking for Toyota, a Tyre place, the Bank and sightseeing, so the next day (Monday) we could get things going quick.

Toyota service in Windhoek is AMAZING. Wish to have it at home. They actually came out to find out how to help even before I got there.  Excellent service!!!!!!
They booked the bakkie for the afternoon, so we went to Arebbusch and booked into a chalet. Left the trailer and unpacked the bakkie. Then to town to the bank where no help was available. Eventually after many calls got a new pin number and could draw some cash. Then took the bakkie in. While waiting for the service, they took me to have the tyre sorted out.
That evening we had dinner at Arebbusch restaurant. So, we treated ourselves to dinner and a bed.
Next day, went back to town, did some groceries, refilled the gas bottles and had a nice breakfast.
We left around midday, which was a bit late for the journey ahead. (Walvis Bay).
There were two items on the wish list for the day. Fort Von Francois and Mt Vogelfederberg and obviously getting to Walvis before dark.
By the way, Windhoek is not big, but has ALL the line shops as per RSA.
