We left Luderitz with Anita wanting to stay behind. She was over the moon with the place. The only dissappointment was Kolmanskop. We had a complete different picture drawn up by all the advertising. There are just a few houses and although there is sand, most definitely are not being buried by the sand. Also, you have to join a tour in order to get in.
In any case, we must go back to Aus in order to follow our route. Easy and tared road. The only thing is that is uphill all the way. 1000 m over 160 km.From Aus we turned north. The scenery is so beatiful.
Mountains and huge plains covered with yellow grasslands and game here and there.
The castle is located at the base of a hill and has a great view of the valley around. The castle itself is quite a sight. Well built and with all the goodies of the era.Just can not comprehend why here? (It must be one of those german things!!!!!
The camp was good and we ended the day with the crayfish we bought in Luderitz.
Tomorrow we move on to Sesriem to se the highest sand dune in the world. (Claimed!!!)
Looking forward to see them.
