The street food was amazing and we pulled a "Mark" by eating everything in sight in a small town! The saltena's (like a curry puff), humitas (a cheese and corn mix), biscuits and pasta soup didn’t stand a chance. I was willing to give anything a go so also mistakingly bought a salt and ash rock that is used when chewing coca leaves! It was all so good and all for only a couple of dollars. Steph’s started to eat some of the food that has only a little meat in it and so has a lot more options. We met up with Lucan and Liz again and had a 3 course meal for $5 AUS each – can’t complain about that.
Sandboarding was on offer so I couldn’t pass up the opportunity and so we headed out for the day with our guide Juan. The dunes were 100-150 metres high and quite steep. We were at 3600m altitude so trekking up them really took it out of you. Still, we stuck at it for about 5 hours. The boards were good like home and really fast so there are a few bruises from some spectacular stacks, but merely flesh wounds! Did manage some nice carving runs with a few small jumps thrown in.
It seems as though we have been talking about getting into Bolivia for a while, it’s exciting that it’s finally here. Already things seem much cheaper and less developed – just what I’ve been waiting for...

9. They think saying something repeatedly in monotone will make you buy it
10. For people who BBQ a heap of meat over coals, they have never seen a pair of thongs.
