At least i'm not infectious anymore and so I can explore a little. My interprettor is gorgeous, and its great having her around. Also becoming good friends with a guy about my age who speaks good English. All in all I love this place and am finding there is so much more to life than I previously thought.
We're spending our afternoons going from house to house in teh village just basically saying hello and 'what have you been up to for teh past 50 years!?' to everyone. People are really friendly and keep feeding us turkish delight and some very potent drink called Raqi - i've never drunk before and so there are only so many houses I can visit before I find myself a little extra jolly!
It's awesome being able to just go out in the evenings and just meander up and down the town square, passing the huge ex communist parade areas, now run down and only hinting at the magnificance of what once went on. Buying coke and just sitting out chatting and talking - the southern europeans have definately got their evening 'promenading' sorted out.
