Dearest Family & Friends,
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Tanga, Tanzania! Fortunately, we are spending Christmas with friends from DC who are now working in Tanzania--Amy and Bjorn Jacobsen. We are sharing traditions and even found a Christmas tree that we decorated last night (thanks to Amy who brought decorations). Bjorn, who is from Denmark, is going to lead us in a Danish tradition of dancing around the Christmas tree this evening (stay tuned for pictures) and our iPod is supplying over 7 hours of holiday favorites. Last night, we enjoyed Mike's family's famous holiday mushroom soup and this morning Carla made some delicious chocolate chip cookies (using chopped Cadbury candy bars since we couldn't find chips) without even measuring accurately! Although it is around 95 degrees outside, we are cooking and stuffing a turkey in our small, 1940s oven, along with all the fixings!
We miss everyone back home (as well as snow of course), but wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Love,
Carla & Mike

Happy Holidays Carla & Mike
While I'm not in DC, there is plenty snow in Wisconsin (and in DC if you didn't know). Tell Africa I said hello and I miss her! Have a great time!
Merry Christmas to you both! You missed over a foot of snow here in DC but I think you'd take a fun filled evening in Tanzania over bad DC drivers anyday :)
Miss you tons and it looks like you guys are having an awesome time!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! God bless, Paula & Terry (Tokyo)
Dear Mike and Carla,
What an adventure! (I had no idea you had even left the US.) My hat (and coat and gloves) off to you. I can't think of a merrier way to have Christmas.
Best,
Naomi Baron
